Q61 REVEALS HOW TO NAIL THE TOP MANI TRENDS OF FASHION WEEK AUTUMN/WINTER 2018
At his Autumn/Winter ‘18 Fashion Week show, designer Ryan Lo’s inspiration for his models’ nails was Parisian Bohemia, which resulted in long talons, gently squared off and painted glossy black, with the overall effect being ladylike, Vampish and eccentric in equal measure.
GREEN WITH ENVY
Emporio Armani, Marc Jacobs and Cividini all demonstrated that green coloured nails – usually reserved for pantomine characters and Halloween –can actually look wearable, polished and surprisingly chic. Dark green is an edgy alternative to burgundy and navy, and one that looks great paired with tailored workwear.
Don’t pigeon-hole nude as a summery shade – this wearable hue is here to stay for winter, thanks to Roland Mouret, Mary Katranzou, Bottega Veneta and Alexander Wang, who all used barely-there shades in their Autumn/ Winter ‘18 shows. When wearing nude in winter, you need to be careful it sits well against your clients’ paler skin.
Known for producing collection after collection of highly decorative footwear and embellished bags, we could trust designer Sophia Webster to launch a trend for bejewelled nails, and that’s exactly what she’s done this season. Offering a bespoke nail art service, as we do at Q61 Nail & Beauty Studio in Leeds, is the perfect way to encourage your clients to try out this trend.
